About the Event

One of a series of craft workshops that draw on the skills and enourmous good will  of our members and friends to bring you a variety of new crafts to try.  Our aim is to provide workshops that are as much about a social afternoon with friends as they are about learning a new skill.

Sally Schofield is a professional artist living and working in Merstham.  Her details can be found on her website: Handglovery - Home (weebly.com) but I will let her introduce herself in her own words:

Sally Schofield BA(Hons), Cert Hum, BDS, PGCE I am an artist and designer, living and working in Surrey, UK. I trained in Graphic Design at St Martins School of Art in the 1980s.  Although my career began in design,  I was also an Art and Design teacher for 11 years across secondary schools in the South East. Since reclaiming my life from education I am on a one woman mission to banish bland shop-bought art from homes, by creating a diverse range of unique art - in style, medium and size:  I want to create affordable unique art for any home to be proud of.

We will be working on a beach scene and the photo shows a similar scene while we wait for Sally to work on the example.

As with all our activities we aim to make a small surplus to cover emergencies but otherwise price our events to be as affordable and inclusive as possible.  We are able to do this due to the fantastic goodwill of our members, the women of Merstham,  who give their time and skills for free or at cost.
