Making jam is our main fundraising activity. And everyone can help! Firstly, we need donations of clean jars with lids (300g/250g/200g preferred), sugar (or jam sugar) and fruit (frozen or fresh). Members are invited to attend all or part of the day. You do not need to have any prior experience.

About the Event
Our jam making day will take place at one of the Committee's home kitchen. Making jam is a lot of fun and very satisfying. There are various tasks to perform including: sorting & cutting fruit, manning the dishwasher and the oven, making jam, filling jam jars, washing up and adding finishing touches (labels/fabric/ribbon lid covers). Tea is on tap and we also break for a light lunch.
If you love making jam, or are a complete beginner and would like to learn, bring an apron and come along for a couple of hours or the whole day.
We would welcome jar donations as soon as possible please so that we can ensure that we have sufficient number for what we plan to make. If you are able to donate fruit or sugar, it would be helpful if you are able to let us know what you can offer. We ca…
