Despite the snow making roads and pavements treacherous, we had a marvellous turnout to enjoy the bells of Joan and her friends at our party. They played beautifully, making the sounds of Christmas live for us. The food was spectacular too. Claire ensured a seasonal choice of soup and plenty of cheeses, snacks etc were provided. Many thanks to all who helped with hot drinks too. The Quiz was excellent, bringing out our
competitiveness and liveliness. Many thanks to Jenny for providing so many raffle prizes. On a personal note, I'm very pleased with mine! The craft groups are doing so well and our youngest member is trying very hard to master knitting. We are so very proud of her. Creativeness helps many of us through the grey Winter months and all are welcome at Merstham Mix on Fridays at 1pm and Saturdays at 11am. Needles and yarn are provided until people are confident enough to try their own projects. Many thanks to those of you who have donated yarn and needles, as these are expensive items. I am helping at Merstham Park School's knitting club through our Women's Group. This has raised our profile in the community as well as spreading knowledge to children. Liz has organised some wonderful Winter walks. Fresh air and exercise during the Winter months to reduce stress and lift our mood is so important. Liz regularly lets us all know when her walks occur at all times of day to enable those with irregular working hours to take part. Our next meeting is the 9th January in Canada Hall. All are welcome to our AGM and to hear of our exciting plans for next year. It will be lovely to hear of any further suggestions too, whether it be Crafts, Sports, Historical visits, or any other items of interest. A Merry Christmas to everyone and a very Happy New Year.
