Fete season!

Thank you everyone who attended All Saints Fete and for all the hard work of those who set up stall, worked on stall and advertised our Merstham Women's Group so well giving such a good impression of who we are. The produce looked amazing on our new table. What a good start to our season of Fetes.

Our June meeting was absolutely amazing, with Janet teaching how to make colourful, edible flowers for cakes. Her teaching sessions are always so well attended as she takes time to explain each step so clearly. Many thanks to Janet for sharing her skills once more.

Liz has continued to lead beautiful walks for those wishing to see wildlife, or like going for healthy walks with others. The Summer Solstice walk was stunning. An early start, 4.30am, on a warm morning, saw 11 of us walk to Spynes Meer lookout point. There we saw a very sleepy swan through the mist. As the mist rose in beautiful swirling patterns, various birds awoke , even the swan who glided gracefully across the water. The birdsong was jubilant. It was so peaceful watching the wildlife wake up and see the mist gradually disappear while we enjoyed our breakfast of coffee with croissants. Thank you Liz for your help and your ideas for beautiful walks.

The July meeting will be Sea Shanties, so for those of us who will not be having a holiday this year it will give us a chance to enjoy a taste of the sea. Fish and chips also provided.
