Welcome to Autumn

The Summer has disappeared so quickly, but hopefully everyone enjoyed the break. Our Autumn started with the Quality Street Fayre. Many thanks to Gail for pulling a trolley full of table, chairs, gazebo and goodies to sell at our stall uphill for most of the way. Thanks also go to Liz for providing many tins of wonderful cakes, also Anna, Catherine and ladies whose names unfortunately I missed for their lovely donations. The Fayre has grown considerably over the years and we met so many interesting people and their dogs too. We will enjoy seeing so many of the women who are interested in our activities and meetings so please come along and introduce yourselves at any time. A lovely time at the last Fete of the year for us.

The September meeting took place, despite our Nation being in mourning for Her Majesty. Our late Queen belonged to similar groups to ourselves and enjoyed baking, so we decided to go ahead with our Recipe Swap night. Thank you to everyone who baked such wonderfully tasty treats. From sweet to savoury, there was a wide choice of recipes on show. It was a great opportunity for us all to meet after the Summer break and to express our shock and sadness regarding the Queen and to support each other.

Our October meeting, on the 12th is a Pilates taster session. Pilates is a gentle excercise, which will be done standing, or sitting, but no floor movements will be included, to ensure all can take part. Please wear loose clothing to enable ease of movement. We look forward to seeing everyone enjoying our evening. There will also be some knitted Halloween decorations available for sale and all money goes towards running Merstham Women's Group.

As we missed the Sea Shanty group during the Summer due to one of the men experiencing covid, we have asked them back for the 26th November. This is a Saturday evening and is open to all friends and family. A fish & chip supper will be included in the ticket price too. Full details will follow shortly for this exciting evening and we hope to see everyone there.
