Many thanks to Janet for making our February meeting so wonderful. Janet brought out the best in our crafting abilities by teaching us how to make fabric brooches, which can also be used as hair decorations, or to decorate a hat, as one of our members did. Not only did we sew, but Janet helped us with our choices of colour combinations from the beautiful array of fabric she supplied. The assortment of buttons to complete the brooches was the envy of many of us and we were spoilt for choice of which to use to complete our brooches. We had an outstanding number of 31 attendees, which led to a busy but happy noise of chattering whilst discussing the merits of different colours and buttons. As this was the first time we saw some members for such a long while, our meeting was quite special. The amount of children who came to learn was amazing. Their choices of colours etc. was inspirational and I hope they continue to enjoy crafting. Such a pleasure to see everyone having a lovely time creating something beautiful.
If anyone is free on Fridays at 1pm termtime we have a 'knitty natter' craft group where I'm happy to teach knitting and crochet, or help with any pattern puzzles or stiches. On Saturdays crochet lessons at 11am, or any knitting activities. All at Merstham Mix so we can enjoy a nice cuppa. Children are also welcome of course.
Our next meeting will be about Merstham history. I'm very much looking forward to this as history has always interested me and local stories are often the best.
Don't forget our Liz does some beautiful walks and with the weather soon to improve it will be lovely to get out and about in good company. Watch out for her notices of where she's walking next.
